A Teflon liner is bonded to the inner race surface, and sliding motion occurs between the spherical ball and the Teflon liner surface.
The Teflon liner has self-lubricating properties, so lubricants such as grease are unnecessary.
Therefore, it is effective for use in places where oil is undesirable or lubrication is difficult or impossible.
Additionally, since it does not require a lubrication mechanism, it is effective in reducing maintenance costs.
The Teflon type spherical is suitable for use under low-speed oscillation.
Moreover, it exhibits relatively good performance under vibration loads. Therefore, if there are issues with excessive friction, seizing, or fatigue failure in metal types, or if fretting of the sliding surfaces becomes problematic, replacing them with the Teflon type is an effective measure.
